The Winsor School Reviews
Rating 4.3 out of 5 82 reviews
Winsor is really wonderful! Our child loves going to school here every day. The teachers work hard to make classes truly engaging; they are very approachable and provide detailed feedback and support. There are plenty of kind and friendly fellow students to bond with in classes, sports, performing arts, clubs, and other activities. We’re thankful for her experience here, and would choose to send her to Winsor again in a heartbeat.
My dd is a freshman this year and we have been very impressed and happy with the school so far. From summer communications to weekly school updates, the school has done a great job keeping parents in the loop. The school facilities are amazing with a combination of traditional classes(Round table discussions) in the red brick building and the new arts+athletics in the new giant contemporary building( open, glass walls, courts and amazing theater). Our daughter loves the urban location with shops and cafes just outside school grounds. The faculty are aware of the pressures that can exist in an academically rigorous school and host a plethora of support systems and are approachable for working with student schedules and progress. There are an incredible amount of clubs and the students are allowed to have club meetings during lunch ( can bring your lunch to club rooms) and encourage students to join as many as they wish to discover new interests and just have fun and be themselves.
So I saw someone say that if you are a rich white girl who wants to be a doctor, this school is for you, but I disagree. Yes, obviously there will be some "rich, white girls" but it is not your money or race that will make you fit in at Winsor. Winsor has an amazing community, and I have met some of my closest friends there. UTL (under the lights) is a day I look forward to every year, and Winsor feels like a safe place for everyone. The academics are absolutely amazing, the sports here are wonderful (we win about 6-8 EIL championships per year) and it never feels too stressful, thanks to the amazing teachers here. I would seriously consider going to Winsor because it's one of the best schools in all of Massachusetts! So yeah, 5 stars for me :)
