From The Wilson School

Since 1913, The Wilson School has excelled in reaching every student. Children thrive in deliberately small classes, with two full-time teachers in every grade. Wilson’s size, community, and innovation mean we can offer an excellent education, whether in-person or online.

Upcoming Events

Giving Back at The Wilson School

Wilson kindergarteners host a school-wide lemonade stand as part of a science unit. Teachers have partnered with Alex's Lemonade Stand, a non-profit that supports childhood cancer research. This year, students sold lemonade kits to our school community and surpassed their overall goal. This is one example of how students are encouraged to MYMAGO (Make Their Mark A Good One) at Wilson.

Wilson has been a wonderful choice for my three children. The curriculum is individualized, challenging, and integrated across subjects. The school's small size allows each individual to be known, is integral in developing self-confidence, and is the foundation for a close, supportive community for both my children and me. Distance learning was an easy and seamless transition and the teachers continued to challenge students in different ways. I am always impressed by the teachers, however, their creativity and quick adjustment to distance learning was impressive. Each one of my children has been well-prepared academically, socially, and emotionally for secondary school's demands.

Our family just completed its third year at The Wilson School. We chose Wilson for its smaller class sizes and its focus on developing a student's self-confidence in tandem with their academic growth. We have been thrilled with our child's emotional growth in the last two years especially. The school motto -- Make Your Mark a Good One -- is very carefully interwoven into the overall curriculum as well as students' day-to-day experiences. We always look forward to what the next year will bring.

Especially in the last four months, with the onset of COVID-19, the thing that my family appreciated the most was the school's focus on keeping the children engaged and connected to each other. The online learning, while challenging for little ones, was well organized and executed in ways that, to us as the parents, seemed....seamless. Our child is equipped with the tools that he needs for this summer to meet the challenges of the upcoming academic year.
Our family's experience has been extraordinary so far. The genuine love and interest that Wilson teachers and administrators have for every student's success is second to none. While The Wilson School community is slightly smaller than other primary schools in the area, it quickly becomes less important when you see the 6th graders that are produced from Wilson. They are academically and socially prepared, they have a sense of community and collaboration, and they have a global perspective which is further developed as they go on to many of the top secondary schools in the region.
