Humanities Seminars at Wilberforce

At Wilberforce we invite students into the Great Conversation. Our high school students engage in a seminar-style class integrating the study of literature, history, and philosophy by discussing primary texts and classical literature. Through discussion, debate, and essay writing, students learn to interpret texts, speak publicly with confidence, defend a claim, and have clarity in writing.

Enrolling my son in The Wilberforce School was one of the best things I ever did. When you walk into this school, it is immediately evident that every employee--from staff to faculty--loves and cares about each child. Academically, Wilberforce provides a rigorous education, while emphasizing joyful learning, integrated discovery, and the development of character. Most of the teachers at this school not only have advanced degrees but they put in extra hours to ensure that every student receives the individualized attention and support he or she needs. Since entering kindergarten at The Wilberforce School, my son has flourished academically, socially, and spiritually. The Wilberforce School is truly one of a kind; I cannot recommend it highly enough!

We love the Wilberforce School. Our children have been in the school for 5 years, and they have grown so much in characters, spiritual life, academics, and confidence. we are so glad we choose the Wilberforce School! The teachers are very supportive and they are committed to teach our children in Christ-centered ways. They work not only with our children's behaviors, but also focus on their hearts. It's refreshing to work with teachers who truly care for our children.
The culture at the Wilberforce School is Christ-honoring in everyday - through all subjects wether it's science, art, or history. The school emphasizes on building a Christian culture that honors God and loves our neighbors. Community service is a big part of the school culture and curriculum. Teachers work with students to focus on learning habits that are honoring God and building up the community. There is no other school like it around here in NJ!
My son is in the nucleus of an amazing culture, with many opportunities to develop multiple skills through clubs, serving in student-led teams and encircled by excellent teachers. I treasure the teachers, staff and Board for their commitment to excellence, kindness and focus on individualized character development as well as academic achievements for our children. I am very grateful to God for this school and very accomplished teachers! We have connected with many awesome families and are blessed to be a part of this supportive and endearing community. I have to give special thanks and recognition to Christina for graciously and affably guiding us through the admissions process!
