I recently graduated from this amazing school and I am making my way to NYU in the fall. This is possible because of the culture made up by a diverse body of teachers, faculty, and especially the students who offer many perspectives. The academics allow you to engage with a small group of students to achieve a greater understanding of topics. The field course program is phenomenal and offers opportunities to visit many states and countries to further diversify one’s understanding of the world and themselves. I cannot tell you how many wonderful memories I’ve made here and I hope those coming here find a beautiful and accepting community with a plethora of opportunities for growth.
We have 2 children enrolled at WMS. Our daughter will be graduating in May. We have absolutely loved our 4 years at this school. The teachers are thoughtful and caring. The college prep process is amazing. Kids start the process their junior year by attending college prep classes as a graded course and are completely finished and ready to apply early decision or early action by the end of October their senior year. The teachers really are the hardest working group who make themselves available as needed. The campus is gorgeous with huge glass windows and small classes. Mandatory sports allow anyone to join, even if you have never stepped foot on a soccer or lacrosse field. Everyone is welcome and everyone plays. We are so grateful for this school and everything it has given our kids.
The community at the White Mountain School is very valuable, and no student goes unnoticed or uncared for. I know that many students struggle with emotional and mental well-being, and many are told that there would be more resources available for them at the school. Pretty much any student can succeed at WMS, especially if they seek support and get involved in the community, which is not hard to do as the school is roughly 150 students.
