The Westminster Schools Reviews

My experience at Westminster has been phenomenal. After spending the last 12 years of my life here, I can confidently say that without Westminster I would not be the person I am today. Academic rigor in combination with an above-average athletic program helps bring this school into the top tier. However, it is not the athletics nor the academics that make Westminster stand out amongst elite schools such as Philips Exeter and Deerfield; Westminster is defined by the unique opportunities that no other school possesses. Whether if it is Running Through History (a trip where we spent a month literally running through Europe) or WCAT (an Emmy-award winning broadcast team), Westminster has a place for every student regardless of intelligence or background. The only place for true improvement is the diversity of the student body.

I really liked how focused Westminster is on getting students ready for the challenges they will face in college academically. In terms of diversity, I believe the administration could do a better job with promoting and talking about the issues that currently effect minorities. There are not a lot of minority students and at times it felt as if not talking about current news events in classrooms was simply turning a blind eye to real issues. The Westminster bubble where everything is fine and dandy inside of the gates most definitely exists. Overall, my academic experience has been excellent.
Westminster gave me the challenges, opportunities and support to become the person I am today. I'm getting my degree at my university but I got my education at Westminster. Now having the chance to compare my high school experience to that of my friends in college it is even more clear that Westminster is an incredibly special place. I have always loved to learn and I think at any other school that love might have diminished instead of being nurtured. I will always treasure my time there!
