I have attended Westminster since K5 and can honestly say that it has been such a special blessing in my life. I greatly appreciate the Spiritual discipleship that is integrated within each class and event. My favorite aspect of the student body is the size. I love the fact that it is not 'cool to be dumb.' My classmates are eager to help one another and also uphold the integrity of the academics through honesty. Even though Westminster is in no way a perfect school, I do feel like they strive to be one through their devotion to each of their students through their attention to their emotional well-being, not just their academic well-being. If I were to pick one negative thing about Westminster, it would be the faculty's lack of communication. Since there is no student government, It can sometimes come across as though they don't seek out or appreciate the opinions and feedback of the student body before implementing changes to the daily lives of their students.
I was a student at Westminster starting in Kindergarten, and I spent 13 years there. Every year I was pushed academically and had a rigorous curriculum. I was taught to think creatively, and even when school was tough, I had teachers who cared about me and helped me along the way. The teachers at Westminster care about the individual student, and will go out of their way to help each student in and outside the classroom. In each class we are taught to see how God is at work, whether the class is math or history. I thoroughly enjoyed my academic career at Westminster and even more enjoyed the teachers there.
I have been enrolled at Westminster School at Oak Mountain since kindergarten and I will be a graduate in 2021. Overall, I truly have had a great experience. The teachers are always there to help and they surround you with wisdom and knowledge. However, it is not necessarily an easy school.
