After 14 years at WSOC, I can confidently say that my school has better prepared me for my future than other high schools could have. WSOC teaches a holistic style, incorporating a diverse range of multicultural and multi-perspective activities within mandatory art, science, math, English, and history classes. In my metalworking class, we studied techniques of African tribal smithing, and in Shakespeare, we read Hamlet while examining the language and making comparisons to modern-day mental health conversations. I wasn't just taught the facts - I was empowered to use the tools given to me to create change. After reading an article in my Modern World History class about the extreme lack of feminine products in developing countries, I started a women's nonprofit called Eve to fund donations of hygiene products to shelters in my hometown. This project began with the push towards curiosity that WSOC offered me, and ended in a desire for change that still grows in me today.

The Waldorf School of Orange County offers parents and children an extraordinary, progressive education which intertwines Math, Science, Arts, History, Language, Humanities, Handwork, Woodwork, Games and Movement in creative pattern as opposed to seeing these subjects, and the world around us, as separate, isolated experiences. These students graduate as lifelong learners who see the world in unique ways. The future will ask for unique learners to solve world-wide problems we have yet to even consider.

This school is the greatest gift that you could give your child. Our family is devoted as our adult children came through the school from Playgroup to Grade 12 and are out in the world as happy, creative, successful, young adults.
I have loved my experience at Waldorf School! I have been there since first grade and could not have been more satisfied with my education. I feel I received a truly optimal education from staff and faculty that care deeply about each and every student.
