My child is a senior at The Summit and has attended the school since kindergarten . The small class size (maximum of 18 per class) and amount of personal attention has definitely increased the level of his education. They focus on deeper learning and understanding of the subject matter. They truly learn and have an in-depth understanding of the subjects. They have Spanish every day starting in pre-k, so that my son is fluent in Spanish at this point. They begin public speaking and presentations in elementary school so that by high school they are very good at presenting and speaking in front of others. They are not at all intimidated by public speaking. In fact, they enjoy it. My son's level of maturity and confidence is amazing for his age as a result. He is doing coursework way above his grade level. He is extremely prepared for college and has no doubts about his ability to succeed in college. Sending our son to The Summit has been the best decision we ever made.

Summit has always been slowly deteriorating, but recently it's becoming a horrific mess. I thank it for my first 6 or 7 years, but my recent experience has been one I wish I had not had.
The Summit offers a totally unique to the area education experience. Students are challenged to their highest potential daily in all subjects through individual and class instruction. The Summit works to build students proficient in creative thinking and solution seeking strategies, group dynamics, communicating their ideas through written communication and public presentation. As a professional in Fortune 50 company, I know these skills are inherent to all future success. I love that the kids are building this vital foundation.

Daily Spanish language and integration of foreign language into mainstream topics and classroom logistics is impressive. Music program is amazing and very inspiring for young ears. Our kids enjoy identifying instruments they hear in popular songs and both have new interest in playing.

I also really agree with the apparent philosophy that the 7 hour school day is basically enough time for kids to focus on their regular school curriculum. The Summit offers lots of additional resources for kids interested in after school work, but required homework is minimal. Our kids have time after school to enjoy a after school theater or music mini class, read a book and both participate in sports or dance without being burdened with hours of homework.

The Summit is a young school - just 10 years old this year. The faculty has been very solid and consistent but the administration and leadership has changed over time. The Summit head of school, Rob Gronniger, started in August of 2014 and brings 25+ years of global education background to the Summit. He has a strong sense of the organization seems to be a good fit for the school. I am excited to see the benefits of his leadership in coming years as the Summit grows to reach it's full enrollment potential.
