The Salisbury School Reviews

We love The Salisbury School! The level of academic challenge is top-notch. The teachers truly care about each student and diligently work to meet every child’s needs. They also work tirelessly to develop the talents of each student, including academics, athletics, and artistic talents. TSS has a unique philosophy that I haven’t found at any other school nearby. The faculty and staff instill a love of learning while also teaching each person to become an independent thinker and a good global citizen. In these challenging times, we need to raise kind, caring, and successful people. The Salisbury School embraces this challenge and delivers. I’m so grateful that we are able to send our children to this special school.

I love my school! The teachers challenge students but are always very supportive and available to work through problems or give extra help. Most classes have 10 or less students in them, so everyone gets individual attention. Everyone thinks about TSS being strong in literature and the arts (which is true), but it is also extremely strong in math and sciences. I am taking two science classes this year. Both of my science teachers have Ph.D. degrees and are excellent teachers.

When I talk to my friends who have graduated, they always say that they are doing great in college and are much better prepared than other freshman. TSS is a college prep school and does a great job preparing students for college and life.

Also, I just had a German exchange student stay with my family and this summer I will go to Germany for two weeks to stay with her family – I can’t wait! I love that TSS has this student exchange program!
My children have attended TSS for over 10 years, and I could not be more satisfied! The Lower School is an idyllic place of learning centered around an extensive library. The students develop a love of learning in a fun, safe and supportive environment with terrific teachers. The academics in the Middle and Upper Schools are very rigorous with great individual support from teachers.

The students also learn great life and social skills such as how to communicate with adults, public speaking, and how to treat others.

The Upper School is not only “college prep”, but it is a college-like experience that really prepares students to excel in college and beyond. TSS students know how to write a research paper, manage a schedule, and how to communicate with a professor once they get to college. Several graduates have told me that they were far better prepared for college than the vast majority of their college classmates.
