We love the Post Oak School! The Montessori program has prepared our children to be self-starting, resilient learners, without sacrificing academic rigor. Everything about the school, from how the classrooms are set up to the process for transitioning between grade levels, is thought out for the maximum positive impact on students’ growth. This really is a uniquely wonderful place for learning.

We've been with The Post Oak School for over a decade with both of our children starting in Young Children's Community at 16 months and our oldest now entering middle school this fall. We knew we wanted our children to have a Montessori education for preschool as my experience attending Montessori preschool was foundational for my love of life long learning. Our children are thriving, self-directed in their learning and conscientious community members. The parent community is involved and supportive of the school, the children and each other. We have at each transition point (eg preschool to first grade, upper elementary to middle school) involved our children in the school choice decision making, and they've not wanted to even consider being anywhere else.
One of the most important things we searched for when moving to Houston was a school for our then-four year old daughter that would feed her curiosity, encourage independence, inspire her to rise to challenges, and foster a sense of community. We found all of those and more in The Post Oak School. We have been with the school at the Bissonnet campus for a year, and in that short time the community here has made Houston truly feel like home. The self-guided nature of the Montessori education meshes well with my daughter's personality and our goal to raise her as a well-rounded, self-motivated individual. Her teachers never tried to quash her exuberance or high energy; instead they were fantastic at teaching her how to channel that into learning and helping others. The Post Oak School also values diversity and encourages the community to be mindful, responsible, and accepting. There are numerous opportunities to be involved with the school, and everyone is extremely welcoming and kind.
