The Oxford Academy Reviews
Rating 4.5 out of 5 6 reviews
My son is truly happy at Oxford Academy. Academically is it a dream! His teachers challenge him but are willing to slow things down if it appears he is struggling (you won't find that in a traditional school). This can allow for extra review in an area so that the concepts become clearer before moving on (that is key to a student with ADHD). The parent portal is excellent with weekly reviews and term reports. Each teacher explains (in detail) what is involved with the day-to-day class time explaining what they worked on and how they approached solutions to help the student understand and be successful. Being that the ratio is 1:1 students are 100% accountable so there's no excuse for not understanding what's expected. The standards are high, consistent and fair. The staff is like family and I have no doubt that they care for my son.
This is 100% the place the that changed my life. I struggled in school for as long as I can remember, up until I started at Oxford. It was the first place where I felt like somebody was giving me a chance to be different in a long time, and that's what gave me the confidence to graduate and make it through college. Oxford is unconventional, and sometimes it felt small, but I am so grateful for the teachers and faculty who did so much for me. I have a lot of pride for this school, so I'm happy to see it doing so well!
A school that truly lives up to the promise of customized learning in a forward thinking community. The graduate success rate speaks for itself - a settled community of highly talented educators. A small school with great school spirit - competitive soccer, basketball and tennis for the strong athletes and a fun intramural program for those who prefer to not compete. An annual trip to Europe, many special events and regional trips along with strong environmental stewardship programs make this a top choice for your son.
