As a current parent and a parent of an alumna, I am grateful for our experience. My very different children have myriad interests. Whether academic, athletic, performing/visual arts, or technology, Masters has satiated their needs and passions. My daughter was celebrated, appreciated and supported for who she is as a student, vocalist, athlete, community member and a person. Her ability to develop close relationships with faculty ultimately drove her decision to attend a college that offered the same dynamic. She says she misses the dining hall at Masters! Apparently, fish sticks at college are not the same as salmon and striped bass in high school. She often spoke of her "Masters Identity,” which allowed for risk taking, challenge, success and failure. It created opportunities for her to discover what she is truly passionate about while being her authentic self. She was sent into the world as a culturally and academically competent, kind human being. What more could I ask for?

As a parent of a recent graduate, I can proudly state that Masters provided my daughter with a transformative experience. During her time at Masters, she found her voice, her passions, and lifelong friendships. Her teachers, advisor and college counselor were fully supportive and committed to her growth and wellbeing. Academics are appropriately challenging. The student body is extremely talented and wonderfully diverse. Now a freshman in one of her top-choice colleges, my daughter finds herself happy, adjusted and well prepared!
Masters has been the largest defining force in shaping my life. When I started here, I was trying to get away from the classic public middle school grind of fluorescent-lit classrooms, cliques, jocks, and a social isolation that dominated my life as a 'nerd.' Masters has been the first place I've felt truly accepted, and it has pushed me into a full-hearted love of the school. I've participated in dozens of incredible activities from debate and MUN to mathematical modeling to the school's national-title winning robotics team and newspaper. All these have taught me that Masters' truly special edge is the people. In addition to having a remarkably international and fascinating student body, there are teachers from all walks of life who have shaped me in and out of the classroom. Because of the ludicrous number of activities, I've spent upwards of 12 hours a day on campus every day for years. In this way, Masters is more a home than a school, whether you board or not. Thank you Masters!
