Marvelwood is a good school. Like with every school there are bad things that come with it. But for the most part it is pretty great. We have a diverse and kind student body, and most of the faculty are nice. Some faculty though like to pick favorites and will openly talk bad about their jobs and school. Being 100% honest, at times this school can seem unsafe in regaurds to their procedure regaurding emergencies. Most faculty don’t know what to do and it can make students feel unsafe. That would be a main complaint as student should feel 100% safe at their school. Overall it is an okay school though. Academics could be a little more rigorous, but it is hard having so many different learning styles in the classroom. My overall complain besides safety is about transparency with the administration. They seem to take a back seat and many would like to see them be more proactive.

This is a small school that focuses on the whole student. The biggest strength of Marvelwood is it's family like atmosphere. The students and teachers like each other and genuinely are happy to be there. No bullying, no cliches. Just learning and growing together!
The Marvelwood School changed my life, but that isn't to say I didn't have problems with it. When I first applied, they convinced me that it was an artistic and judgefree safe haven for kids that might feel like the don't fit in at a normal public school. I understand that an admissions department is supposed to sell the school, but they were selling lies. They told me there would be a brand new performance arts center, becuase the current one was not only barely operable, but was quite literally full of mushrooms and leaky ceilings. As a senior I can say that that new performance arts building is no where in sight, even today. It seems that the school itself is disorganized.I can complain about the higher ups for days, but most of the teachers are good people and truly care about the students. The majority of the students are good and kind as well, but there are a few that you should stay clear of. It can be clichey at times, but socially, it's always really fun.
