My daughter is a sophomore boarding student at Linsly. I cannot adequately describe the transformation that has occurred in her demeanor, personality, social life and level of maturity. She has always excelled in school but now she truly loves to learn. She knows her teachers truly care and their passion is contagious. Every student is given the tools and encouragement to succeed.

I had many reservations about sending my 14-year-old daughter to boarding school- safety, nutrition, supervision, etc. I felt I was going to miss out on so much of her life. I can assure anyone that all my worries were quickly put at ease and her experience at Linsly has far exceeded all expectations. Although I have less time with her on a daily basis the time we spend means so much more and we truly enjoy each other’s company. Quality truly is more important than quantity. I didn’t lose a daughter. I gained an extended family. ❤️

I have only been attending Linsly for one semester, but it has been an overall fine experience. For obvious reasons, I would have rather remained at my old school, but the transition to Linsly has not been overly harsh. Linsly, like my old school, has relatively small classes and teachers who care about what they do and their students' education. In addition, the majority of the students are respectful and helpful to new students. That being said, though, there are several downsides. Many of the students are not as motivated as one would expect, and there is a fair amount of gossip running amongst the school. The faculty often participates in this gossip as well. The food in the cafeteria also has room for improvement. Finally, the school is just as conservative as the surrounding area. It is not bad for students and faculty to openly express their political views, but this can occasionally result in a hostile social environment that may not be safe for all individuals.
From my experience, Linsly is a family once you attend you are apart of that family for life. That has to be my favorite part about the entire school. I would prefer it to be a little bit more lenient with its older students, but at the same time I understand why they enforce the rules they do in order to keep us safe. Linsly isn't the most perfect school, but if you want to live in a close knit environment with great academics for a fairly cheap price considering its a private school this would be the one.
