The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Reviews
Rating 4.16 out of 5 213 reviews
I applied for and was accepted into this school last year, and had an excellent experience throughout the process. The staff and support on a teacher level here is amazing, and my audition experience was professional, and educational. The resources of the building are very strong in certain aspects regarding theatre, music, and art studios, but academic classrooms are quite small and there is no cafeteria area. The school itself made me feel very welcome, and the diverse student population was quite refreshing compared to my experience with public school.
Great place to attend, school atmosphere allows students to feel safe, and helps students bring out their full potential beyond primary education. Lehigh Charter Arts School is not just an educational institution. It's an experience, a journey that allows students to explore themselves outside of primary education. Students feel more connected and able to express who they are through their chosen Art. The teachers, staff, and the entire educational community at Lehigh Charter Arts do not have the feel of an institution of higher learning. It has the feel of home, self-expression, freedom, security, and normalcy that you will not find in a regular school setting.
Charter Arts is not a perfect school and there are parts they need to work on - communication/transparency, taking responsibility, staffing - but I still feel incredibly blessed to have gone there for my 4 years of high school. It is so much better than a public school because it's truly an environment where people are free to be themselves, hone their passions, be around like-minded people, and there are a good amount of teachers who really do care about their student's well being. Charter Arts, the dance department specifically, has also given me so many amazing and rewarding opportunities which I would not have had otherwise such as spending a week in Pittsburgh for dance festival, multiple choreographic opportunities, and just the space to grow as both a dancer and a person. Charts is a really progressive place, but I would love to see it continue to grow and be even better with the way they handle situations. I personally had a great experience, but I can't speak for everyone.
