From The Laurel School of Princeton

The Laurel School of Princeton is a coeducational school for students in grades 1-12. Specializing in educating students with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, and coexisting conditions including ADD and executive functioning skills, we are committed to reframing the conversation about the way children learn.

In addition to small class sizes, our certified and nurturing faculty provide individualized instruction and support to meet each students’ needs. All of our students learn differently, – no one is “pulled out” of class for instruction, helping to remove barriers and unleash potential. By celebrating and leveraging individual strengths, Laurel students are confident, curious, and proud.

Our teachers know how to teach and transform their nontraditional learners, so there is no longer a need for tutors, and homework time is no longer a struggle. "...as parents, we feel that Laurel has given us our child back." -Laurel parent

The Laurel School is a wonderful community! The faculty and administration truly care about the students and are very much involved with the success of each student! There is a strong, structured academic curriculum and wonderful special subjects including music, theater, art, tech and physical education. With smaller classroom sizes, the students are able to make great, supportive friendships! All students participate in multiple musical performances throughout the year, including a fully staged musical! The creativity that our students have really shines through during these shows! We also offer a Consenses course which has brought out so many amazing qualities in the students! The Laurel School is a very special place to be and I would recommend to everyone!

Laurel School has the right mix of professional expertise to understand our students and teach them the way they need to learn, heart to motivate, nurture and encourage them, and appreciation of their unique strengths. I love being a part of this school and making a positive difference for each student every day. There is no better feeling than being part of giving a family their lovely and lively child back as they begin to believe in their own abilities and learn to address their challenges. We are happy to make school a place they want to go every day.
On day one, our daughter experienced a new world where teachers taught specifically to her style of learning and appreciated her strengths. The curriculum, the teacher’s skills, the level of commitment to each student, and the wholesome community all came together for our daughter as her reading was quickly brought up to grade level.
