The Kinkaid School is a prestigious K-12 Texas private school that truly focuses and excels at encouraging and creating the well rounded student. All Middle School students are required to dabble into three languages, two instruments, a musical, and all regular seasonal sports. In Upper School, it is not uncommon to find numerous students who are on academic honor roll, while also playing three sports and fulfill their fine arts credit every year. Attending Kinkaid and taking advantage of their boundless opportunities makes their students top candidates for colleges, given that they should have strong standardized test scores and a packed resume. Many of the students come from wealthy white families who live near the area and are very connected outside of school, whether that be through familial ties or social organizations and country club memberships. Therefore, many of the students are ignorant of the outside world where minorities and those outside the 1% exist.

It's academically rigorous so be prepared for the workload especially if you're involved in other activities. The teachers are great and passionate and want to see you succeed. They are available for extra help if you need it. The sports and arts program is excellent. The dean program is good and will prepare you for college well. There are plenty of clubs and academic activities of varying degrees of difficulty for students to get involved in. The main issue with the school is the lack of diversity. Houston is one of the most if not the most diverse city in the country but most of the students are upper middle to wow they are super rich and also mostly white. However, some minority groups will find a small but supportive community like black people and Asians. There is little to no LGBT+ presence. Overall, I would recommend the school to most people because of its academic, athletic, and artistic prowess but if you would be uncomfortable because you are not represented then don't.
I liked being a high schooler here a lot. The facilities are amazing, the classes really prepare you for college and the teachers are always willing to help you. Extracurriculars are off the charts. The theatre department always kills it!
