The John Carroll school offers a variety of clubs and organizations for the "non-jock" student. Very proud of the community service events the school participates in. They practice what they preach on service towards others.
This college preparatory school guides students spiritually and academically to prepare them for school and beyond. Teachers are willing to meet with students if they need help with assignments and homework. The St. Josephs Program is a wonderful opportunity for students with documented learning differences.
The best way to experience John Carroll is to make an appointment for a shadow day or two! Come to their open house in the fall you will not be disappointed.

John Carroll displays a variety of activities for students to get involved and show off their impressive talents. The theatre program has been recognized for many awards for their accomplishments. The selection of honors and AP classes allow students to thoroughly be prepared for college and to challenge them. All the teachers are helpful and advise students well according to their expressed needs. The school has a learning commons for all students to take time to study or print-out projects. It is a fun atmosphere and helps students to find extra help with homework and studying. The new St. Joesph's program helps specifically with students who have learning disabilities and need extra help overcoming challenges. Overall, a great environment for any kind of student.
Coming from a long line of alumni, I have to say my parents and I were very disappointed in my experience there. I had to fight to get in the correct math class for my skill set and their only reason was that it didn’t follow their normal process.
Counseling center was a joke, my concerns (emotional and school related) were shut down continually.
If you have any mental health concerns forget about it, I went to many people and was not flagged and parents were never notified.
Racism was pretty bad towards black students when I was there too and was never dealt with.
All in all I can say I am a successful person in the STEM industry, but not because of JC, I did all through my own tenacity and the support of people who knew I could do it when I was told otherwise.
