My daughter is in 5th grade this year and has attended Independent since kindergarten after transferring from Montesorri. She LOVES the caring teachers, the music and arts programs, and the after school and summer activities. As a parent, I am so grateful for the one-on-one attention she has received math and reading, and for the curriculum, which instills confidence with skills like writing and public speaking. Independent has truly inspired her!

I wouldn't put my children anywhere else in the city of Wichita. The love and caring environment is genuine. Students are welcoming and teachers are willing to work with students outside of the classroom. My children have had opportunities to play 3 and more sports, create their own clubs, and participate in fine arts or academic competitions every year! It is a school that concentrates on the growth of the whole child and is true to its mission. We couldn't have been happier with the education at The Independent School.
When picking the perfect school for my 4 boys, I had a list of criteria that I wanted that school to have and Independent met all of my expectations. This was 14 years ago! My oldest graduated from TIS last year and even thanked me for sending him to TIS because he was so prepared for college. Each of my boys have different strenths and passions and have been allowed to persue each and every dream with full support of the the faculty and even more importantly their friends. Independent allows your child to try things they may not get to in another school and maybe find a new passion. This is a school I would recommend without hesitation to anyone looking for a school with a curriculum that excels, teachers that are caring and comitted and parents and children that support each other.
