This school is a gem – my son is in fifth grade and the two teachers are amazing. They work well together and really challenge the kids. Compared to a private school he used to go to, I feel like IDS really focuses on pushing my son to excel. He's a smart kid already, but they are able to support him in what he's best at, as well as help him learn new things and be well-rounded. The school has a fantastic staff, and the families here are very invested in seeing the whole school succeed. Highly recommended!

After several years in public school we realized we needed something different. Our kids were receiving average schooling and the education was not tailored to their needs. This all changed once we found IDS. Our kids both have thrived! They have very different learning profiles and the teachers were able teach to them in a way that fit their needs. In addition to great academics, IDS focuses on building self confidence and working successfully in a community. The new Head of School is smart and focused and has a great overall plan for size and direction of the school. Wish we would have transferred our kids sooner!
I toured several schools and as soon as I stepped into IDS, I knew I had found the right place. I have never entered a classroom at IDS and seen kids bored and not engaged. There is a lot of learning by doing and the kids get so excited about school. It is a nice mix of traditional education (they learn math facts, spelling, grammar & cursive) and newer educational philosophies that let kids take a more active role in their education. The teachers are always available and no parental concern is too small. I feel like they know each of my kids as well as I do. The work is also individually tailored to each student. I have twins that are in the same class and they often come home with completely different work. If one of them excels in an area the teacher will give them advanced work and if they need help in something, they get more work in that area until they master it.
