From The Hill School

Founded in 1851, The Hill School is a coeducational independent boarding and day high school for young men and women from around the world. Hailing from 28 states and 28 countries, Hill students live and learn in a close-knit community with peers who are diverse, talented, and driven to excel.

When families visit campus, they often ask, “What makes The Hill School different from other schools?” Simply put, we are The Family Boarding School. To us that means enjoying meals together in our Dining Room, having fun and sharing laughs with friends in the dormitories, and gathering as a community for Chapel services twice per week. These traditions - fused with rigorous academics, international diversity, and real-world learning opportunities - create a transformative high school experience for every student.

After attending Hill for a few years now, I can’t imagine my high school experience being any different. The Hill School is my home! I feel welcomed and cherished by my classmates, yet I’m challenged and pushed through academics and sports. I love the environment I’m provided with and the countless opportunities that helped me find my passion. I feel well prepeared for a bright future.

I would rate my overall experience at the hill school highly. I am very thankful for the chance to attend a school with such open resources, great teachers, wonderful facilities, and a great variety of teams, clubs, and people groups to be a part of. I have been provided with an amazing opportunity to attend this school due to my immense work as a hockey player and the scholarship in and financial aid I was provided. It has been an enlightening experience to attend boarding school, live all the way across the country to attend school, and meet all new and different people. It had brought me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to discover myself and who I am through attending this school.
Hill is called "The Family Boarding School" for a reason. Its relatively small student body ensures familiarity between classes and the formation of close relationships. The annual traditions Hill employs such as Spirit Week, Headmaster Holidays, and the seniors jumping into The Dell after Commencement make Hill one of a kind. The gorgeous campus harbors beautiful contemporary facilities and traditionally Gothic buildings, perfectly combining both the old and the new. The faculty at Hill are incredibly talented teachers during school as well as role-models as coaches on the athletic fields.
Some opportunities that could prove to benefit Hill would be to reduce their number of required meetings for students. Another change that could help the school is to improve its wifi servers.
