The Hayground School Reviews

3 reviews
It’s not shiny, but this place has more educational depth & breadth than anything else in the area. After 6 months, there will be at least one (and probably more) teacher(s)/mentor(s) on campus who knows your child really well. This kind of individualized learning is Hayground's forte. And feeling that you are seen is a really nice thing for a child. This is not force-fed, top-down until all the boxes – spelling, history, reading, math, etc – are checked learning. Hayground is about preparing for the world, learning how to ask questions, slowing down for deep discussion, engaging in real projects, learning chemistry while preparing a meal, learning about science in the garden...in short, becoming a complete and curious human being. My children finished at HG one year ago and 4 years ago respectively. We couldn’t have asked for a better foundation as they’ve transitioned into high school. Look beneath the surface.

My son just graduates in 2 weeks and my daughter still attends. The teachers and staff
are what make Hayground school so incredible. I cant even begin to tell you how close my family has become to this school. I absolutely adore the teachers. Each one has become apart of my family. When I send my kids to school its like I am sending them to my sisters house. I know they teach/mentor my kids like family. Don't follow the herd with traditional school these kids are taught to be independent!
Establishing a foundation for learning is at the heart of this unique school. The students learn to be independent, responsible, and actually enjoy the education process at a deep level. They collaborate with all ages in the school and become the closest of friends with students, staff and community parents. The students graduate with a strong sense of self, ability to ask questions, and gratitude for their special learning experience at this school.
