Sending your child to The Gow School is a heart rending experience. Our son struggled all through grammar school. He started at The Gow School last fall and had a fantastic year! He came up 6 grade levels in his reading comprehension levels! All in one school year. Through all of this, he gained confidence in himself because he realized he was not the only kid to struggle with his learning profile. As we load up my wife's car with all of his things and get ready for our trek to South Wales, for the start of his second year, I will say this to any and all who listen, The Gow School is the greatest place on earth for kids with dyslexia.

The Gow School provides all the SBE (Scientifically Based Evidenced) practices recommended by IDA (International Dyslexia Association). I am an educator. My son was struggling to the point we were concerned it would affect his ability to go to college. Gow met all the requirements of what IDA recommended and what was on his IEP. Their long history of providing these types of accommodations, remediation, and structure for organization is evident. Having a child live far from home was difficult, but the school is more like a family, where my son is supported emotionally and academically. The teachers, administration, and dorm parents really care for the students and my son (and my husband and I) have come to see them as "co-parenting". If your child needs appropriate LD/Dyslexic/ADD teaching techniques in an environment that supports their needs GOW is a school you should consider. This school has literally saved our son.
I have looked at many schools both in the USA and abroad. The Gow School is by far the most impressive. A small school, very well organised, excellent faculty, and a beautiful campus with great sports facilities. What really makes this school stand out is their positive attitude and dedication to success. Hands down this was the right choice for us and for our son.
