My daughter had a memorable time at GMS. She enjoyed the learning and social environment. The teachers know the students well and are all very caring. The curriculum is rich and specially tailored to middle school girls. She was exposed to so many activities - metalworking, woodworking, surfing, skateboarding, programming, entrepreneurship and so much more. She is excited to learn and empowered to self-advocate. I wish there is a similar school for boys!
I have two very different daughters who thrived at GMS. My social, athletic daughter was able to progress academically at her own pace and is thriving in high school. My more academic, cerebral daughter is able to go deep in the subjects she loves and is well supported socially. I love that each GMS student is fully valued for who she is. I love the joyful, respectful, curious culture that is nurtured by every adult on campus. My girls have described it like summer camp every day. I’m a fan!
This school is a (sort of) hidden gem in Palo Alto. In an environment of college arms race and competition, this school teaches girls to think, understand, question, and create. In an area with a lot of privilege, this school is committed to admitting and financially supporting a significant number of girls who otherwise would not attend a private school. While the humanities program is nothing short of outstanding, there is also a commitment to STEM education through a strong science program, CS for every girl, and an entrepreneurial program that involves local private companies and venture capital firms. I am so grateful we found this school and that my daughter is getting such a wonderful experience.
