I have two children here, one very different from the other. One 100% wanted to attend EWS, and the other started one year ago reluctantly. I can say without reservation, both of my kids are thriving here. Learning in ways that are unique and speak to their individual needs. Full transparency, I work at the school (and it is a great place to work) but I have never written a review until now. Seeing my two kids both excited to come to school this morning, prompted me to let others know. EWS is a great place to be!

As a senior, I cannot imagine leaving this amazing school for college. The teachers at Emery look out for you, establish a personal connection with you, respect you and want you to do the best you can. Emery is my home and my safe space and I am so sad to leave. While other schools may have harder classes, Emery challenges each and every student to the best of their ability and provides an environment for kids to thrive. In my opinion it’s not ranked high enough because the student body and faculty make Emery the best school in Texas! I have made my best friends here and have been given the most amazing opportunities for me to succeed in my community and in college. I can’t thank Emery enough for the love and support and I can’t not imagine going to another school.
I have a unique perspective of Emery/Weiner, both as a parent AND as a faculty member. I currently have two children in the middle school, and they couldn't be happier. They often cite opportunities they have to try new things and their relationships with teachers as the "best things about Emery." Since becoming an employee in 2014, I have watched the school grow and expand from the inside, prioritizing student ownership, deepening curricular engagement, and developing meaningful learning experiences outside the classroom. Emery/Weiner is a community where young people are valued, relationships matter, character and values are celebrated, and our responsibility in healing the world is made abundantly clear. "The Emery Difference" is tangible, and I see its efficacy in my children who make choices to challenge themselves, connect with their community, and show compassion to others in need.
