The Early College at Guilford is phenomenal. I've experienced diversity, academic growth, and personal/social development in ways I never would have imagined 4 years ago. The opportunities I've had here are unparalleled and have empowered me to reach for goals far beyond what I hoped for in middle school. The coursework is challenging, but my peers and I have developed amazing friendships as we've worked hard together.
The freedom of junior and senior year is excellent. We have enough structure to make sure we're highly competitive for college admissions, while still having the opportunity to explore fields to which none of my peers at other high schools have been exposed. Regarding diversity, I have friends from 7+ countries, some whose parents are doctors, and some who will be first-generation college students. Nowhere else have I experienced anything even close to the diversity of ECG.
Bottom line: If you're willing to be challenged and stretched, ECG will change your life.

I have greatly enjoyed my time at ECG, and I will surely be sad to leave it! ECG is a tight knit community of like-minded individuals invested in academics, and this creates a competitive yet quite engaging and encouraging environment for students. The academics are a great deal of work, but nothing that the average ECG student cannot handle. I have especially appreciated my experiences with freshman and sophomore English, History, and Calculus classes.
The Early College at Guilford really lives up to its academic reputation. The teachers are kind and compassionate, the students demonstrate integrity and discipline, and the courses are very rigorous (especially for sophomores). The only thing I would suggest changing is possibly the workload given to sophomores by the teachers. I understand that taking 5-7 AP courses in one year would have to be a lot of work, but if the teachers could somehow do this, the students' health and sleep schedule would significantly improve.
