The teachers there truly care about their students and the quality of their education, and the Guilford College atmosphere is quite nice, but a combination of a high turnover of principal employment and large class sizes in small, paper-thin trailers during a students freshman and sophomore years can make the advantage of over two years of college credits by graduation seem null to some. This, combined with the deteriorating mental health of students as a result of constant and unaided academic and social pressures, leave students feeling alone and confused as they navigate such an abnormal high school experience. Despite a mostly encouraging and helpful staff and administration, there is an obvious lack of communication between all parties at the school. ECG is difficult and molds kids uniformly, not allowing for academic uniqueness. There are some who flourish under this pressure, but there was little anticipation and preparation for the many who can’t and still do.

My years at ECG have been great. Teachers are truly dedicated to students and students are given great opportunities. The only complaint about the school that I have is the competitive nature that has taxed on many students' mental healths. I think there have been great contributions to looking towards mental health outlets for the students, but there is always room for improvement. I love the independent nature of this school and is one of my favorite bragging points. Recent administration has attempted to limit this, but I think that it really makes ECG unique. In short, this school is great and I would recommend to any high-achieving student.
The Early College at Guilford is a wonderful program in regards to college readiness and STEM education. Due to the minute nature of the school’s class size, students are able to receive personal and specialized learning, to fit their needs and goals. ECG was ranked top in the state for a reason, which becomes evident as soon as you meet its faculty and students. It’s also a feeder school for UNC Chapel Hill, a public ivy, and sets its pupils up for success, due to its rigorous courses. Students are able to graduate with roughly two years of college credits, better preparing them for a lifetime of accomplishment, as they are less likely to be limited by student loans. In conclusion, The Early College at Guilford is an admirable choice for high school education, because it creates and environment for its alumni to be the best version of themselves that they can be.
