Harkness Learning at Dunham

Students gather around the table, eager to explore text, formulate opinions, and share perspectives. Engaging in lively discussions, they speak up, step out, stake a claim, and defend an idea. This is Harkness, a progressive teaching method that inspires our Dunham students to find and use their voices and prepares them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Hats off to the middle school administrator, Mrs. Theriot. She is an exceptional leader and educator. The students will be much more than appropriately prepared socially and educationally. What this school has accomplished is remarkable. The strong education is very well complemented with the moral/spiritual education the students receive. The world is a better place for the students prepared here!

The Dunham School is a great place for young people to be accepted by their peers and thrive in the classroom. The harknesst table method is unmatched for helping kids learn communication skills and building self-esteem. Something I want to see change is how they handle religion. It is a Christian school, but that combined with its academic goals should entail more respect and education about other religions.
I love the environment the school creates for students. I have gone there from K-12th grade and have really been pushed and challenged as a person. As I got older, the courses became more challenging. However, the teachers were able to serve excellent academic help. It was harder in Middle School to receive this help, but high school definitely served me well. I also love how students are nurtured and loved by their teachers. Discussion-based classes make it easier for me to state my opinions without fear of judgment too.
