My son is a senior at Cushman. Having him prepared for college was an important factor when choosing his school. With a variety of AP classes offered and the small teacher to student ratio, he gets the benefit of challenging courses while working closely with an instructor who knows his abilities and challenges first hand. The teachers and staff are caring, always available and communicative whenever needed. The Cushman families are warm and friendly allowing for friendships to develop not only among the students, but parents as well. I highly recommend the school!
Highly recommend for all kinds of students! Too many high schools stress competition and overachievement to the detriment of creating a wholesome community in which students can learn. This combination can be discouraging to some students and teaches others that their humanity is less important than creating a "resume" of achievements. If student well-being and personal relationships are something you value in addition to academic excellence, then Cushman is the best high school in Miami for your teen.
We had always heard wonderful things about Cushman, but had not considered it because of the distance to our home. When the high school was opened in 2017, our home situation changed and Cushman became an option. How I regret, not coming here sooner! This has been an such an incredible experience. The academics are extremely challenging. The teachers are superb and the faculty feels like an extension of our family. We only have one more year left in high school, and I can truly say, I will miss Cushman dearly!
