Words cannot describe how amazing this school has been for my son! He is excited to go to school and he loves his peers and his teachers. He is getting an incredible education and loves being hands on with school projects. He is learning how to be a kind person and a mindful person. It really is a true “community” school. The teachers, parents and members of the community all come together to help this school run. It’s a beautiful sight to see.

This school has the potential to be something amazing. It has great intentions, but cannot provide students the full education that they need to grow and become mature independent adults. They don't offer clubs, sports, art, music, tech, theater, or even food for kids who can't afford it because of the outrageous tuition prices. The tuition doesn't even include the prices for skiing, expensive field trips and even some classes, all of which are required to graduate. My biggest thing out of all of this is the bullying. They say that they will take care of it quickly and quietly, but they don't. It was awful how many kids were tormented every day. This school has gone down hill since it was founded, and I am truly disappointed.
I attended The Community School for nearly 5 years. I was drawn to the agency given to students when planning the curriculum, the international travel, & close relationships w/ peers and teachers. This year, I dove into a 6 month project learning about music production software. I took March off from school to work alongside a professional musician, & did extensive reasearch into the neurology & psychology behind musical preference & music in human evolution. I have never been so challenged & rarely felt so fulfilled as a learner & a person. I was also part of an integrated math and science class that dealt with real world issues. Our goal was to apply STEM concepts to create a bioshelter. My group was charged with powering a scale model, using only solar energy. We studied photovoltaics, talked to professors from 2 universities, & created a system that supplied all electricity for a scale model. It’s unusual to be 18 and feel like you’ve contributed to something meaningful.
