I attended CA from k-12th. I have been able to get involved in many things and offered many opportunities I would not have gotten elsewhere such as close and personal relationships with my teachers, stellar college prep, and a community of students who care deeply about diversity and living by the school values which include respect and moral courage. Academics are also amazing. They have turned me into a person of character with better critical writing, reading and speaking skills!
I'm aware that no school is perfect, but there are still some policies that need to be worked on. That being said, there are members of the administration that take the time to listen to talk to you when there is any type of problem.
I am appreciative of all that academy has offered me. Growing up among a small group of people you have known for years can keep you from seeing many of the realities outside your little bubble, but even at the end of all of it, I feel prepared for the real world.

I love how supportive my peers and my staff are of me. Without many of my teachers, my advisor, and friends I wouldn’t be ab,e to do a lot that I was able to. For example, last spring I was able to travel to China for my spring break. My lovely advisor helped me with the finances because she understood that I would need the aid. The people at that school are very kind and genuine, and I will truly miss going there. One thing I would change is the diversity level. If we could be more diverse with ethnicity, race, religion, and even political views then the school would be a much better place!
Columbus Academy is a great school with kind teachers, though some of which I truly wonder how they still have a job there. The academic atmosphere is challenging but is also a welcoming environment with a ton of old traditions that make it more welcoming to new students. Not to mention, the lunches are amazing compared to those of public schools. Those who revisit our school after graduating often say that Academy's dining hall is better than their college's!
