STEM Program

TCHS is the first Catholic school for young women to offer a STEM Program. The Program’s Lead Engineer & Doctor of Medicine educate students in the cutting-edge Engineering Lab, Robotics Lab, and Clinical Simulation Lab. Our partnerships with Express Care Centers, The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, and University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center provide our students with in-field experience.

Catholic High is an all-girls, private catholic school. The school runs on the smaller side with a class size in each grade ranging from 50-80. One of the great things about Catholic High is the personable experience. We have a lot of activities with our classmates and assemblies to learn about others in the school. This promotes the "sisterhood" feel that Catholic High promotes. One downside of Catholic High is the location. As a young female driver, sometimes driving through the city is nerve-racking. But, despite the location, Catholic High has been a great high school and prepared me for college through all of my Honors classes. I wouldn't change anything about Catholic High, it has been a great school since it opened over 85 years ago!

Review The Catholic High School of Baltimore

I chose Catholic High because of the programs they offered. As someone who is interested in a variety of things, the school was the only one I applied to that allowed me to pursue all of those things. Due to what I assume is COVID complications, the school has had trouble keeping teachers there for long periods of time, which makes classes for specific programs not as strong as they could be. However, I still feel that I have learned unique and helpful things that not many others who are my age have had the opportunity to. Athletics are wonderful here — you do not have to be someone who has been doing a sport since elementary school to be put on a team and encouraged to perform to the best of your ability. I really don’t mind the uniforms that much and the atmosphere between grades is not one of superiority (overall, there are individual exceptions). Underclassmen are taken in as the little sisters of the older girls, and the majority of students and faculty are extremely welcoming.

I transferred from a STEM honors program. The extent of bullying forced me to switch schools. The school administration had something to be desired. They refused to tell me what classes were excepted even my community college classes. I took some of the same classes as I did in STEM. The teacher didn't even know coding. I could have taught the class. Some of the teachers could not teach, for example Physics. I studied with a tutor and he counted things wrong because he didn't understand. He could only teach from the book. It's hard starting a school your Junior year.
