A K-8 education at The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine is the best decision you can make for your child. Cathedral's rigorous academics, bountiful arts curriculum, and its groundbreaking identity/character/leadership programs prepare students to be articulate, confident citizens of the world. Beautiful 13-acre campus with 2 playgrounds...As a result of her experience at Cathedral, my daughter was better prepared for high school than the students at her new high school who had been at that school since K. Leadership, sports, club, and extra-curricular opportunities at Cathedral enrich the students' lives to educate the whole child. The school's 7 core values (Cooperation, Courage, Passion for Learning, Integrity, Kindness, Respect, and Responsibility) are at the heart of EVERYTHING... 6:1 student/teacher ratio...experienced, caring, creative, outstanding teachers...It's an amazing school!

Gosh I can't tel you how much I love this school. I've been here since kindergarten and I'm just graduating this year. My brother has been here since kindergarten and is in 5th grade as of today. Cathedral is the best school ever. It is amazing, especially at a young age, to have a whole 12 acres of green to use, and on 112th street and Amsterdam! That is unheard of. The community is amazing, and in my nine years of being here, I have never met a teacher who does not absolutely love what he or she does and genuinely cares for us. Plus, the academics are amazing. Some of my two closest friends are going to some of the highest rated high schools in the country, and I can not feel more prepared for high school. I have loved every minute of my time at Cathedral, and I am writing this review so that your son or daughter might as well.
Cathedral is a true gem. A K-8 school with top notch academics and high school preparation and application process. What sets this school apart from others, besides it’s academics, is it’s warm environment where your child is known and supported by everyone from faculty to staff! The school even has a campus with plenty of outdoor space in the middle of Manhattan! Our family is very lucky to be apart of such a wonderful community, and our daughter is happy and thriving!
