At Bullis, I was given an opportunity to excel in my strengths and improve my weaknesses. I was a year ahead in math and was able to take the classes necessary for me to continue rather than retaking a class or sitting out a year. I was able to overcome my weakness in writing with the help of the writing center and each of my English teachers, who had office hours and were very responsive to emails when I had questions. Any other academic struggles were settled with the help of the academic center, enrichment period, and the learning specialist. The fact that Bullis is a small school makes for individualized enrichment and allows specialized attention. If I could change anything at Bullis it would be the diversity. As a PWI, the school endures racial issues with microaggression, ignorance, and a lack of understanding. Bullis should make fewer accommodations to privileged children who get away with saying racist things.

Academics are average and many of the teachers are not competent but the administration refuses to do anything about incompetence. A few teachers are AMAZING but they are punished for trying to do right by the students. The great teachers who have the flexibility to change jobs end up leaving Bullis. The student doesn't come first. The focus is on buildings, making the campus beautiful, and catering to rich parents who want their kids to be passed through school. There are different "rules" for the board member and large donor children (e.g., a rich student out for drug rehab returns and doesn't have to make up work but a "regular" student out because of the flu is punished for missing work).
Sports teams are strong but sports seem more important than everything else.
At Bullis, you can be exposed to different type of careers such as business and STEM through the capstone program. There are many different opportunities to learn about things that interest you. They also want people to be well-rounded by taking classes in all different types of fields.
