Although Buckley is a college preparatory school with excellent academics and a big campus, the administration is not focused on the upper school students and their college preparatory expectation. Regarding this 2020-21 year, Buckley website states: “we decided to prioritize bringing K-6 students to campus every day because many children of these ages are not yet able to manage remote learning without intensive adult support at home. We also recognize that parents need childcare in order to go to work themselves”. While Buckley focus on being the childcare for his elementary students, high school students in their most critical years of college preparatory studies are relegated to distance education from home every other week.
The Buckley School has been a K-12 adventure for me. I have loved every single year I have been there. The faculty is so supportive and helpful while the students are so caring and fun to be with. Although it is academically challenging, I'm sure it will prepare me for my college adventures!
The Buckley school is very rigorous but very supportive at the same time. The staff is top notch and they are there to guide you every step of the way. Your Education at Buckley is not just based on Academics, they look at the student as a whole. Most of the classes if not all are taught seminar style where students learn to analyze, discuss and debate. There is also a sense of community, where students are constantly involved in volunteer opportunities and community service. The message at Buckley is one of inclusivity, leadership, kindness, tolerance and giving back. I am truly grateful for the opportunity. If I had to change something at the school it would have to be the diversity in terms of minority students.
