Like every school, there is good and bad. Overall, My seven years at Blake have been an amazing experience! With teachers who take time out of their day to help their students to the best of their ability, excellent academics that prepare you for college, and kind people, Blake has been a great opportunity to say the least. The school helped me find my voice and tell my story. It allowed me to develop passions and relationships with people that I wouldn't have been able to do anywhere else. It has pushed me to become my best, and challenges me to think outside the box. Overall Blake has been wonderful for me, the one think I wish there was more of is diversity of the faculty and students. Diversify the student and faculty population would help people feel safer, and give a more rounded education.

When I first came to Blake, I was expecting to be part of a very inclusive environment. While my experience at Blake had a lot of positives, there were certainly some drawbacks as well. I had to deal with one student who repeatedly verbally/physically harassed and bullied me and multiple other people. The administration did not handle the situation properly at all and failed to notify my parents and didn't issue an adequate punishment to the student despite the overwhelming number of times that he has been disciplined by the school for the same reason. Luckily, a lot of my teachers have been extremely helpful and supportive throughout this struggle, on top of being amazing teachers, academically speaking. Although academics at Blake have been challenging enough and helped to prepare me for college, the drama had a significant negative impact on my life and I unfortunately can't forgive my school for allowing this type of bullying to happen at school and on school approved trips.
Our overall experience at this school has been wonderful! The classes are academically rigorous but reward the students with a greater understanding of the subjects discussed. The class sizes are small which allows for one-on-one time with teachers, and the classes are engaging and push students outside of their comfort zones in order to expand their understandings. The teachers and staff are friendly and helpful. There are also a variety of clubs, extracurricular activities, and sports to participate in. Blake prepares students for success in future academic ventures as well as for their daily lives.
