Awty gave me many wonderful opportunities in terms of clubs and sports. I was able to involve myself in the activities I liked, and I was able to cultivate a great Resume. However, I believe that the IB Diploma is too demanding, and many students were stressed, depressed, and lonely throughout the course of their Junior and Senior years; many students went to sleep from 1 am to 3 am because of their homework load, and they simply didn't have social lives. I believe that there isn't much support from counseling–even though many students need it–and there isn't a large emphasis on the arts. Ultimately, I believe Awty made me into a very competitive university applicant, but at the large cost of sleep deprivation.

My kids have been attending Awty since Kindergarten. Now they are in middle school. We picked Awty because of the emphasis on languages as well as the diversity inside the classrooms. You can judge a school academically, by curriculum, by the teachers and by the sports and activities offered. The best way for me to judge? My children love to go to school. They have friends from different cultures, religion, etc. They enjoy learning and being in class. There are definitely challenges for the school as it grows, but the faculty and staff are supportive and focused on student success.
I entered AWTY my Juniot year and was surprised by how easily I was able to fit in. The students are all incredibly kind and accepting. The school is very rigorous academicly and doesnt offer alot of help or support to struggling students. The faculty is also very grade oriented and so, students rarely recieve acknowledgement for their inquisitiveness and creativity, the school instead rewards memorization and a compartmentalized form of thought. In my experience AWTY is a school with teaches students to fear being wrong, and if children and young adults begin to fear the possibility of being wrong they will cease creating their own original ideas for fear of being mistaken. In this way while AWTY creates logical, and effeicient students, though I believe that it does so at the cost of the imaginativeness and unique creativity of its students
