The students and faculty at Awty foster a culture of diversity where differences are not just accepted, but celebrated. This diversity is especially clear if you walk through the school during the annual International Festival, where booths from different countries are set up all throughout the courtyard. In concurrence with diversity, one of Awty's strengths is their exceptional language program. The social sciences and language departments are also very strong at Awty (speaking from my experiences as a high schooler). On the other hand, one area of improvement for Awty is the extracurricular and art programs. There are a few consistently well-performing high school extracurriculars such as the Ethics Bowl team; however, the majority of Awty's clubs are not well developed or consistent and hence, do not enjoy frequent success. The same can be said for some of the arts programs such as orchestra and dance, while not for others such as band.

This school has shaped who I am, I have attended since PK3 and am a senior now. I love ALMOST everything about this school; the faculty is dedicated and pours it’s heart out for its students, students are kind and accepting of others... that being said, going to Awty has mildly affected my social life as Awty students receive a negative stigma from other schools for being “nerdy”, “boring” and “antisocial” which is not the case. And being in such a tight knit community may also create a culture shock as being in a school that promotes diversity, acceptance and peace in a world which is, unfortunately, neither of those, will create some struggle when transitioning to the real world.
    Like:
-Modern and clean classrooms & buildings

-Dedicated and talented teachers accross all grades of HS
-Caters to a variety of sports
-French program availabilty alongside international program
    -Good, friendly school culture
    -decent stem & arts resources
    -Safe, well-kept, and spacious campus
-High variety of school clubs and organizations
    -Multiple food options
-Fun special events (Big bend, International festival...)

    Dislike:
    -Average to less-than-average food
    -Somewhat bloated/inneficient administration
-Sharp divide between french program and international program students on top of french program students frequently missing out on international prpgram events & opportunities
-(pro for some) a difficult school to get into and an expensive one at that
