Teachers are deeply qualified and genuinely care about preparing students for college and life. Altamont is a community. Altamont students readily accept new students when they enroll. There is a culture of inclusivity. There is a culture of curiosity. More importantly, there is a culture of joy. If a student is stressed, it isn't coming from the school or teachers. The priority of these teachers is to make sure kids have balance, integrity, curiosity, and joy. Altamont graduates a well-rounded child that is ready to improve the fabric of their community. I'm a parent but familiar with schools in Alabama. This is absolutely the best school in all of Alabama and one of the best in the southeast.

We have two children at Altamont. Our children couldn't be happier. The teacher's care about them and know them -- at their core. Our son has a passion for Latin and STEM. Our daughter loves the arts, English and History. The Altamont School, their teachers, their advisors and their peers have helped our children find themselves. We highly recommend Altamont.
I like that there are many options for courses and because it is a small school you can work closely with the faculty if you need help or have a goal or project in mind. My main complaint is that, as a highly academic school, homework can sometimes be overwhelming.
