My overall experience at The Academy At Smith, was decent, made many new friends. The teachers are great and i can build close relationships with them. The other side at the Academy is that some teachers doesn't really fit into the Academy. This is my personal opinion, in general it's a great school!

My high school experience at the Academy at Smith was amazing and definitely unforgettable. The courses that were provided allowed me to earn my Certified Nursing Assitant license along with a Nurse Aide I endorsement. The choice of taking AP classes and enrolling in courses at Guilford Technical Community College also gave students insight into the college experience. The Academy at Smith also offers exclusively honors classes so everyone is able to graduate with honors. The school chooses a mixture of races, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds so the diversity is astounding. However, there is a lack of school spirit which may be due to the deficiency of the parent involvement in the facility. I participated in volleyball, indoor track, and outdoor track for every year of high school except for my freshman year. Overall, my high school career was a success from the values, lessons, and life-long relationships I have made.
The Academy at Smith is an amazing school in a small setting. Since the school is small, everyone knows just about everyone. There are so many school events held that bring the students together to the point where we all feel like a big family. At this school everyone is so close that the grade difference among students isn't really noticed. The teachers at the school really do care about the students and do try their best to be helpful to prepare you for college and the real world. As a student you will create amazing connections with your teachers opening up opportunities for volunteer work and for extracurricular activities. At the Academy, special career classes are taught in the fields of nursing, business and electrical. By the time you graduate, you will have various certifications in these fields. Attending the Academy has helped me to find myself and has taught me everything I will need to know for the future. I am grateful that I got to be a part of this school family.
