My peers and mentors from this school have forever changed my perspective on the world and it’s issues. It’s main focus is teaching students interested in medical professions and helping them reach their goals. This school is a lottery program, as well as an early-college high school, meaning 100 kids are chosen randomly from a larger pool and given the opportunity to receive an associates degree (AA or AS) alongside their high school diploma, saving many students from the weight of student loans and debt. I would, however, love to see this school more involved in the community through volunteering and scholarship fundraisers. There is a large minority population, and I believe that these activities could help boost student confidence and leadership skills.

From the beginning I knew i want it to attend to this school because it will help me have a better understanding on the medical field, and I was right. From your first year at TABS students are able to assist classes pertaining to the medical field, such as medical terminology and a PLTW source. The fact that this school is an early college school may scary some people, but college is not as bad. Starting your sophmore year student are able to start college classes with college professors, giving students the opportunity to graduate with an associate of art or science. But most exiting during junior year students begin their rotations between nursing homes and hospital. Finally your senior year students chose a classes either pharmacy, patients care, within others to have the option to graduate high school with a certification. TABS may sound as place that requires lots of work but teachers and students always find ways to include everyone in a fun event. Attending TABS is worth it.
We have a lot of different opportunities for students who are interested in going into the medical field. We have a lot of diverse classes in the sciences and great health-related electives such as Pharmacy Technician, Patient Care Technician, and Sterile Processing Technician. We are partnered up with Tarrant County College and the University of North Texas Health Science Center. We have plenty of chances to go on rotations and externships to places like pharmacies, nursing homes, and hospitals. If you are interested or would like to go to the medical field then TABS is a great school, however, the courses are very rigorous and time-consuming. Our classes are small most of them no more than 100 kids, this gives the student one on one time with teachers and professors to establish good relationships.
