My experience at the high school was overall acceptable. Many of the staff members and teachers that worked at the school while I attended are still there, and many of them were considerate and passionate about their work. Something that I think the school could work towards is inclusiveness. While I was attending the principal promoted students to be kind and work hard, and the program had the motto "be the one degree" in terms of the one degree needed to boil water. However, shortly after the program was instated, it showed that there were favorites being picked and a small group of people started acting like they were better than others. In order to be a part of the program, you had to be hand selected by the principal himself. Over time, some students were afraid to be showcased in this program and I believe that it made it so those students didn't excel as much as they could have during their time at the school.

The best thing about the high school were the teachers and the cross country team. The teachers I had really helped me excel and work hard to progress in the area of academics. They were passionate about teaching which I greatly admire.
The cross country team was a place where I could fit in and make friends. It was a tight knit group of individuals that worked together.
However, I think something that could be changed is the social atmosphere and lack of mental health awareness. Besides in cross country, I had a very hard time feeling emotionally and mentally safe while at school. However, in my senior the school was able to bring in local counselors once a week to see clients while at school. This was a much needed within the school. It helped me and many other students in the school who the counselors had worked with outside of school.
Teton Valley is a small town! Expecting an amazing education system is hard to come by. That being said, Teton High School prepared me for college and for life in general. The teacher held you accountable for your work and prepared students for college life. They want their students to succeed and care for everyone of them. The sports in Teton High were all the same kids and very little variation. Small town living means a parent or uncle is the coach. Loved my experience at Teton High School.
