Pros: The teachers are well qualified, you are exposed to many things no other school have: access to great resources (engineering tools), and required competitions. The students are very well prepared and while it may seem tedious at times, it pays off and looks great for colleges. The coursework is harder but manageable, you can always take easier classes if needed. If you don't love stem, coming here will be a waste of yourtime. The 11th & 12th grade lab concentrations are amazing.
Cons: This place is very competitive and stressful, cheating is everywhere. It can get very toxic and suffocating with the same people in many classes. If you enjoy socializing and having school spirit, this is NOT the place for you. Also, my grade had many mental health issues like stress and depression. Administration often sweeps big problems under the rug to not mess up their name.
Conclusion: I’m academically well prepared, but the toll on my mental health and self-esteem was not worthit.

I loved the school and the opportunities it brought me! I learned a lot about STEM subjects, and the teachers that I had were very well trained in their topics. I made lots of great connections and memories, got to try out internships, had amazing experiences, and met really cool people. It was academically challenging at times but in the end the whole 4 years was very rewarding. I would highly recommend the school to anyone who wants to go in to the STEM work field as you'll be very prepared for STEM related jobs.
Tesla STEM High School provided me with many defining moments that I wouldn't be here without. The small size encourages a tight knit community and close relationships between the students and nurturing faculty. What it lacks in arts and sports, it makes up for with a plethora of diverse clubs and activities that students can join. It's only been a little while since I've graduated, but I already miss STEM!
