I've been at Terra Nova all my high school career, and I can attest to the fact that you will see just about a little of everything here. It is not without it's issues, but for being within one of the most underfunded districts in the Bay Area, I can't say I can fault the issues too much. School culture in my opinion will be a big stepping stone to helping forge Terra Nova into a better school in the future, as currently there tends to be a trend of overall apathy among students. In spite of this, never did I feel afraid to attend school, but it can be hard to feel motivated at times due to the curriculum and certain teachers, many of whom are underpaid mind you.

In the end, Terra Nova isn't a bad school, but it isn't necessarily a great one either. It has work to do, but it does in fact have the potential to become great!

Terra Nova is a great school, some of the kids can take advantage of new teachers and be very distracting in classrooms. However, the amount of extracurriculars and sports that are offered here truly made my experience here bareable. Join clubs, meet new people, try new things, and push yourself to take harder classes than you think you can handle. Also, do marching band!
Going to terra nova has opened up so many opportunities for me to peruse after high school. I have met so many great people and have grown into the independent woman that I am today. The biggest problem that I faced throughout high school was the constant change in staff. Teachers are constantly being hired and then leaving the next year. It’s really inconsistent and hard to deal with. Overall terra nova has a great atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed. My teachers genuinely care about me not only during school but with my problems outside of school. I always feel comfortable going up to them and telling them my concerns and they are always willing to do whatever in order to address the problems.
