Tennyson High School is what you'd expect in the minority city of Hayward, California. Yes, its facilities are on the older end, and students are primarily of minority descent... It may look daunting, indeed.

Nevertheless, it is always helpful to not judge a book simply by its cover, and this is especially useful when it comes to Tennyson High School.

This high school offers many opportunities through its selection of AP and honors courses, programs and electives, and sports and clubs. Such teachers are not only limited to knowledgeable mentors, but they are also friendly and cooperative human beings. Such support is necessary in the journey through high school!

From my three years here at Tennyson, I do not regret attending this high school. From what I can see, I have grown from my experiences here, and I hope to discover even more in my final senior year, next year.

Tennyson High School may not look the best. But perfection doesn't exist, after all.

The school I attend is always seen as the worst school to attend of the Hayward District , but it isn't. We have always have to carry the bad reputation over our shoulders, but i'm proud of being apart of this community. I have been part of leadership since my Freshman year and currently ASB Treasure, Puente Program Club since my freshman year and currently President, girls varsity soccer team I’m a defender. This is what I like about this school it has given me the opportunities to improve academically and personally. But no school is perfect. Something I would like to change is strengthen our math department. Majority of our students struggle and fail their math classes. There isn't any action being done. There is tutoring for students but only for Algebra, not for all the other classes. I would like for them to care more and try to make a change.
I was very involved in high school. I was an athlete, ASB member, and leadership representative. I loved being in the leadership class where we got to expose the other students all the resource we had available that most did not know about and also the made their high school experience fun by doing activities during rallies, games, and lunchtime events. One of the best things about Tennyson was how welcoming it was to everyone. We were and still are a very diverse school with all types of students and faculty. Of course, being that we have so many different types of people I always remember Tennyson being a judgment-free and safe zone for everyone.
