In general, I think THS is excellent academic wise. The education is great and I have had a good experience in terms of my academics. However, I think the school, and possibly the town, struggles socially. There is very little diversity, and I have noticed that the whole "school spirit" is generally lacking (except for during certain schoolwide events). Additionally, the school social scene revolves around cliques and popularity which is not always the best.
Overall the school was very clean and the classes were pretty good. However, the cpa classes(average difficulty classes) had bad teachers mostly, but the advanced, honors, and ap classes had pretty good teachers. I feel like teachers made or broke a class so many of the cpa classes weren’t the most enjoyable.
My experience with Tenafly High School was an overall positive one. The teachers were kind, attentive, and made for a unique high school experience that I feel prepared me well for college. Throughout college, I often felt ahead of my peers academically, and I truly believe that this is due to the rigor and excellence of Tenafly High School.
