When I entered TPA I thought I came from a school that had prepared me for high school. I was wrong. I am learning not only more advanced topics but I'm going to be more prepared for college than I ever thought possible. The teachers at my school are discussing Plato, Socrates, and the classics that most kids won't learn about until they are in college. Essay writing is a huge task that I'm learning so that when I begin college I will be trained to write college level papers. I'm so glad I'm going to this school and I would recommend it to anyone. My future is bright because of TPA.

Meet Tempe Prep, the charter school with about four hundred students in seven grades. Tempe Prep was the foundation of the Great Hearts Schools, which are schools that employ the Socratic teaching method. The community on campus is absolutely amazing. Students are friendly and inclusive because they know the small number of students. Despite Tempe Prep's small size, students have founded Fashion Club, Hope Crew, Environmental Club, Film Club, Investment Club, and much more. They are truly an active community of learners inside and outside of the classrooms. Teachers are teachers in name, but mentors at heart. I know many teachers who would come to school even if they didn't get paid; they love helping young minds grow and inspiring different ways of thinking.
Tempe Preparatory Academy is overall an incredible school. I realize that at such a young age, I know more than some of the adults I have met. We have read Atlas Shrugged, philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle. The list goes on and on. When I first started, I noticed the community was smaller than other schools. This made the school, overall, a great place for me to thrive and a safe comminuty for everyone to freely discuss matters. The school does lack resources and some facilities. The more students mean more money from the state. In our case, we have maybe 350 kids total at my school. I wish we could have our own gym to practice in rather then driving a few miles to get to a facility we rent. I wish we could afford to pay the teachers more because they are the reason we all thrive! My school is incredible, but the only thing we need to work on is having the right amount of money to keep the school up and running.
