When I was attending, Tech High was just coming down from its hay day. I’ve heard the quality has declined since I left, with a really high teacher turnover rate and a relocation to an old elementary school campus. I did enjoy my time there. The Robotics All-nighters are unmatched. The reason why I went there was the flexibility in the scheduling. That has largely changed since I left because the school has moved to an 8 period block schedule. I particularly am thankful for the teaching of Mr. Torre, the math teacher I had all the years I was there. And Principal Mawhinney saw a drive and potential in me that I didn’t even see in myself and encouraged me to attend a more rigorous college than I’d planned. There was no arts (fine, because it’s a STEM school) but the science and engineering core program was surprisingly bad. I don’t know if I’d recommend this school, especially with some of the recent changes, but hey, is there really anywhere better around?

Technology High School is generally a very good school. Administrators listen to the student body, for the most part. The school is primarily sought out for its science and engineering programs, but in recent years they have seen a decline. Recently hired teachers do not fare up to the school's expectations and students seem to struggle in their classes due to their lack of presentation and explanation of the material.
On the other hand, the math department is great. The two teachers, although they have different teaching styles, are helpful and do a fantastic job of presenting material. The social studies and English departments are adequate and decent. The school lacks in offering a large variety of electives and an array of students look to the JC for these types of classes.
Technology High School definitely does an excellent job in preparing its students for college, which is what they say is their primary goal. In accordance with this goal, many students begin to feel the high amounts of stress university students would usually feel, since class curriculum is more challenging here than at other high schools; in addition, teachers here assign significantly more and more challenging homework than teachers at other high schools do. However, many students who apply to attend this math, science, and engineering focused high school know that they are signing up for this when they apply to attend, so it is not necessarily, or at least entirely, the school’s fault for the high amount of stress they may begin to experience. All in all, Technology High School is an academically demanding school; you really have to be on it in order to succeed here, but students may find it worth it to attend anyway.
