They could do better with getting more organized. Also a couple of their teacher choices were pretty poor.
For students looking for a small school with an accommodating curriculum, Taylor Prep is the perfect school for you. The education is very helpful, in that it builds upon the students understanding of an academic subject, rather than just testing them without consideration for their learning. The building and student body of Taylor Prep is particularly small, by which students are more likely to build personal connections with teachers and receive individualized learning. I personally had a good four years attending this school, and was able to make friends with students and teachers. However, I will say this school is new, and not as well as established in education and extracurricular activities as others. Also, it may be tougher for new students to make friends here, as once again, the student body is small. Anyone who has a problem with uniforms or wants to seriously compete in student athletics should not attend.
This is a great school if you’re child is struggling academically or if they are looking for opportunities to grow. The grading system is designed so students not only pass tests but understand the subject. There are many AP opportunities and dual enrollment courses. The staff is very friendly and the school is small. Overall a great experience.
they treat you like a child and they think they can talk any kind of way to you some of the teachers are good others are not and if the teach is nice they call them to friendly with the students and wants to act poor or mean to student, i do not recommend coming to this school , unless your u want to fix your grade from last year other than that this school is not a good choice
Great school for education, but the full high school experience is lacking. A little uptight about rules such as keeping cell phones in lockers. No tolerance of fighting as doing so is at least a 45 day suspension. Taylor Prep is a good school for preparing students for college, but consider that the high school experience will be minimal before sending your child there.
The school works with students of all backgrounds and creates a nurturing learning environment for all. I was class of 2017 and we were the first full 4-year graduating class. I met some great and talented individuals through this school that I remain in contact with. The heavy but manageable course load truly prepared me for college. I study chemistry at a Howard University and received a scholarship and I cannot thank Taylor Prep staff and facilities enough for preparing me. I am basing my review of my time at the HIgh School but improvements have been made to sports and academics since I have left. I am still in communication with my teachers even all these years later. I am now in my third year of college. Overall, I would rate Taylor Prep a 4/5.
something that I did enjoy about taylor prep was the teacher and student relationship, and involvement.
Teachers care heavily for students and education. I went for 4 years and learned more than expected in high school. Peers were friendly and kind.
I like the teachers and staff. They prepare you for excellence and academics. The only thing is our school is newer so we miss out on the high school experience of Friday night football games. Academic wise our school is wonderful and the teachers are a very good impact on students. I would recommend this s school for a good education.
I like how all the teachers have a set goal to get you ready and prepared to college. One way they do this is by having you get accepted into a college in order to graduate, which I feel is a good step in the direction to getting prepared for college and the real world. Taylor prep is also full of great teachers. Most teachers try to connect with you and make you feel like family and there is never a dull moment with them either. This is why Taylor prep to me is a 5 star school.
I recently graduated the 2018 school year and have to say I wouldn’t trade my high school career for anything. I spent all 4 years here and can say I am more prepared for college, I’m more advanced academically and well rounded as a student and person because of this school. I have been told by outside teachers that Taylor Prep students are more advanced compared to other schools. This school has given me so many opportunities to further my education and my knowledge before I enter college. Because of these things I can say whole heartedly I’m ready to go on to college with a good head on my shoulders.
I enjoyed the atmosphere, the encouragement, and support that the teachers create for the students. Taylor Prep gave me multiple opportunities to look at colleges anduniversities so as to show me all my options. The school is so much more than just your average high school it becomes a family.
A close knit school that challenges you to do your best. Overall a good school, however, desire to have more after school activities and or clubs, such as drama, debate, or language clubs. I love that they offer free tutoring for those students that need it.
The staff actually care about you and your grades! The curriculum is as hard as you make it. Meaning if you don't do what your supposed to do then it tends to be on the difficult side. On the other hand, If you need more difficulty take some more advanced placement classes. They do have other learning opportunities like dual enrollment and vocational classes you just have to take to the college adviser about them.
The rules are sometimes questionable, but overall the teaching is spectacular and I've had a great time.
I really love this school. As a student the staff are very caring and if you shoe effort before the last minute they will try everything to help you pass. They really want you to pass but the academics really are great
It is a nice alternative to public school without such a private school feel. It is challenging but also helpful in preparation for college. The staff is helpful and caring.
