I love Tamiscal. The staff is amazing— teachers are knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating to each student's individual needs. Academics here are equal in rigor to the bigger schools in the Tam District. One could argue that the program is even more difficult due to the responsibilities that come with independent learning. Being a student here takes a lot of self-discipline. Tamiscal has a close-knit community of unique and talented students. Many students are enrolled in pre-professional programs, which preclude full-time attendance at a traditional high school. There are athletes, dancers, musicians, artists, and many other students who participate in intensive extracurricular activities. The social scene is different from that of a traditional high school, but it isn't exclusive. Everyone is friendly and you're able to learn a lot from those around you.

I came to Tamiscal through the pathways program for senior year. The program provides finishing high school classes, college courses at College of Marin and an internship all for school credit. The program was a great way to integrate into the college life, as well as the real world. All of my teachers and counselors provide lots of support, and I feel comfortable and excited whenever I walk on campus.
I like the small class size and individualized approach to learning. The teachers for most part are very helpful and good at what they do. The college and career and school counselors are fantastic!
