What I like about Taft high school is the amazing staff, the teachers will go out of their way to help you with any difficulties you may encounter. Another thing I like about Taft would be the extracurriculars, they allow a variety of clubs, sports, and organizations. Any student may create their own club if wanted, for example, in my sophomore year I created a Scholarship Club to show my classmates where to access scholarship websites. The admin made the club possible, they are understanding and supportive of new ideas. There is also great college readiness, there is an elective available to all students called AVID which stands for advancement via individual determination. This elective allows students to educate themselves on college and what it takes to get there, for example learning how to apply for a student loan or scholarships. Overall Taft high school is a school that contains great staff, admin, and college readiness.

I can describe Taft High school as a place where everyone can find a place to fit, there is a variety of cultures around campus as well as different clubs, sports and activities that every student has the chance to be part of, in my case I am a musician, and I am currently a member of the band program, the jazz ensemble and the steel band, because of these, I found a passion for music that ended being the reason why I am going to major in music production, I also met a lot of people and since we all have this love for music in common, it is easy to socialize and make friends which makes this environment even better. I see that the students work hard and they push each other to improve together without taking anyone out of the way. It isn't perfect, and there is some students that have no interest in passing their subjects or being part of these activities but the school does offer all the opportunities to be successful with school work and extracurricular activities that you like.
It’s a great school with great teachers and staff that will help and guide you to a successful future. They all try very hard to help each and every student succeed by giving them the best opportunities they can. Such as AP courses, college course, and much more!
