As a student that takes more challenging classes such as IB, AP, and Dual-Credit, the academics are rather well organized and the teachers are usually great. As a high school, different levels of classes and amount of participation in the school will result in different experiences. I also participate in sports and clubs and have had a great time in each activity. Homecoming and other school events are really fun!

The teachers and administration were helpful. I believe the academics allowed students to critically think about certain topics and draw a bigger picture. The school is diverse in terms of the nationalities of the people. This created a proactive environment because peers would converse about their lives and learn about different cultures. The clubs and activities were great because sponsors. Sponsors gave the students the ability to express their passions on various activities. Clubs brought together students from all walks of life. This also includes sports and music. For instance, football games demonstrated the importance of teamwork and cooperation. Players would create a special form of trust in order to create this motivation to win the game. However, some of the things I would like to change is the facilities and food. I believe adding more options to the menu would satisfy students. There should be more lavatories. Some tend to be closed, and students would often complain.
Taft offers great programs such as AVID (Advancement Via Individual Development) and IB (International Baccalaureate Program). The majority of the teachers truly care about each of their students and are eager to make a connection with students. The counselors make frequent visits to classrooms and are very involved in the college readiness of all students. While the academics and staff support are a 10/10, the environment can sometimes be unsettling as many students get into fights, smoke, or act out.
